IMTS 2026: Original Show-Floor Photos & Recap
CNC cutting, robotics, fabrication, machine demonstrations, and the people behind them — documented at McCormick Place by The Machine Blue Book.
The Machine Blue Book was on the floor at IMTS 2026. This post-show hub presents our original field coverage from Chicago: the scale of the halls, live CNC cutting, precision parts, robotics and fabrication, and close looks at equipment from Micro Dynamics and ARIX. It is independent editorial coverage of exhibitor areas and machinery seen at the show.
Shout-outs from IMTS 2026 in Chicago
A show this large takes more than machines. Our appreciation goes to the organizers, venue teams, hospitality crews, and the city that kept manufacturing week moving. These are direct links to the official resources behind the trip—not paid placements or partnership claims.

Micro Dynamics at IMTS 2026
Micro Dynamics’ official event listing identifies the two machines in our photographs as the MEGA 30VT and TERA 50V, shown in McCormick Place’s South Building.
The MEGA 30VT product page describes a trunnion-table vertical machining center supplied for 4+1-axis work, with simultaneous 5-axis capability offered as an option. The TERA 50V product page describes an extended-travel vertical machining center for larger molds and parts. Our images show both full machines, their controls and work areas, and the crowd around the live presentation.

ARIX TMS-42CL at IMTS 2026
Our photographs show the ARIX TMS-42CL turn-mill machine from the front and at the control, plus the conversations happening beside it on the show floor.
ARIX’s official TMS-series page identifies the TMS42CL and describes its synchronous internal-turning tailstock and inclined-bed construction. The photos here focus on the machine as displayed: enclosure, control, operator panel, and chip-handling layout.

From the IMTS floor to the Machine Directory
A show-floor photograph starts the question. The Machine Directory and Reference Library help answer what a machine is, how categories compare, and where a model sits in the broader equipment market.
What the show floor means after IMTS
New-machine launches are only one part of the machinery market. The Gauge follows the demand, pricing, technology, and industrial signals that shape what happens next.
After IMTS 2026: the used-market signal
Translate show-floor capability into the factors that shape future used CNC value: configuration, controls, tooling, support, lead times, and buyer demand.
