What Is CNC? (Computer Numerical Control)

📚 Machinery glossary — educational reference, no pricing.

CNC — Computer Numerical Control — is the system that drives a machine tool from a digital program instead of a human turning handwheels. A controller reads coded instructions and moves the axes, spindle, and tooling with high repeatability. It's the foundation of modern machining: the same program makes the same part, part after part.
