Getting to McCormick Place for IMTS 2026 (September 14–19, 2026) is easy whether you drive or take transit. The venue sits just south of downtown Chicago on Lake Michigan, with its own parking lots, a dedicated CTA train station, and bus service to the door.
If you drive, McCormick Place has several on-site lots connected to the halls. Lots A and C (covered garages) run about $27 for up to 16 hours and $40 up to 24 hours; Lot B (outdoor surface) is a flat ~$14/day. Prepaid parking (~$40/day) guarantees a space even when lots fill — worth it on peak IMTS days.
If you'd rather skip traffic, the CTA is the move. The Green Line stops at the Cermak–McCormick Place station, about two blocks from the West Building, and connects straight to the Loop and (with free transfers) to the Blue Line to O'Hare and the Orange Line to Midway. From the station you can walk or drop down to the eastbound #21 Cermak bus that stops right in front. The #3 King Drive bus along Michigan Avenue is another easy option.
From the airports: O'Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW) both connect by CTA train to the Green Line, or take a rideshare/taxi straight to the McCormick Place entrances. If you're staying at an official IMTS hotel, the free show shuttle is usually the least-hassle option of all.
Use the Chicago hotel and travel guide to plan the full trip, then map the venue with the IMTS 2026 floor plan.
