If you're heading to IMTS 2026 (September 14–19, 2026, McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois) to shop turning centers & lathes, here's who to see and what to look for. The big builders run machines live in the Metal Cutting halls, so it's the best place anywhere to compare them side by side in a day.
The turning centers & lathes builders you'll typically find on the IMTS floor: Mazak, Okuma, DN Solutions (Puma), Nakamura-Tome, Haas (ST), and Hardinge. Find their exact booths on the official IMTS exhibitor directory & floor plan.
Go straight to the source — these builders' own IMTS 2026 / product pages: Mazak · Okuma · DN Solutions · Nakamura-Tome · Haas · Hardinge. Cross-reference their booths on the official IMTS floor plan.
Decide whether you need a plain 2-axis lathe or a mill-turn: look for live tooling, a sub-spindle, and a Y-axis, which turn a lathe into a far more capable machine (and command a premium). Match bar capacity, swing and distance between centers to your parts; ask about bar feeders.
