Titanium Machining

What is Titanium Machining?

Titanium is strong, light and heat-resistant but hard to machine: it's gummy, work-hardens, and its poor heat conductivity concentrates heat at the cutting edge. Success needs sharp tools, rigid setups, generous high-pressure coolant, low SFM and steady feed.

Common in aerospace and medical, titanium rewards machines with rigidity, coolant and torque.
