Inconel Machining (Nickel Superalloy)

What is Inconel Machining?

Inconel and other nickel superalloys keep their strength at high temperature — which is exactly what makes them brutal to machine: they work-harden fast and generate intense heat at the edge. Machining needs rigid setups, sharp ceramic or coated-carbide tools, high-pressure coolant and disciplined feeds.

It's used in jet engines and turbines; capable, rigid machines with strong coolant are a must.
