Why laser cutting matters at FABTECH

FABTECH brings fiber and other industrial laser cutting systems into the same manufacturing conversation as forming, welding, finishing, automation, software and inspection. Use the show to understand how the technology behaves inside a complete process, not as an isolated product.

What to compare

Build a consistent comparison around material and thickness envelope, cut quality and assist gas, nesting and automation and service and consumables. Use the same workpiece, material, production target and operating assumptions with every supplier so a faster or cleaner demonstration does not hide a different configuration.

What to document

Record the exact demonstrated model and configuration, options, software version, tooling, consumables, utilities, safety requirements, expected maintenance, training, service territory, lead time and evidence behind performance claims.

After the show

Move the strongest candidates into a controlled application review. Request a written configuration, production-ready cost, references, sample results and acceptance criteria before treating a demonstration as a purchase case.

Questions to take to the show

  • Which laser cutting capability solves a documented production constraint?
  • What hardware, software, tooling and services are included in the demonstrated result?
  • What production evidence supports the claim after show conditions are removed?
