Toolholder

What is Toolholder?

A toolholder connects the cutting tool to the spindle taper, locating the tool accurately and transmitting torque. Types include collet chucks, end-mill holders, shrink-fit and hydraulic holders — each trading grip, runout and balance.

The holder's runout and balance directly affect finish and tool life, especially at high RPM.
