Post Processor

What is Post Processor?

A post processor ('post') is the translator that converts CAM toolpaths into the exact G-code and M-code dialect a particular machine and control understand — handling that control's syntax, canned cycles, tool-change routine and axis conventions.

Because controls differ (Fanuc vs Siemens vs Mazatrol vs Haas), the right, well-tuned post is essential to run a program safely on a given machine.
