B-Axis

What is B-Axis?

The B-axis is a rotary/tilt axis about the Y direction. On a mill it tilts the head or table for 5-axis work; on an advanced mill-turn it's a tilting milling spindle that reaches any angle for full simultaneous machining.

A B-axis milling head is the hallmark of the most capable multitasking machines.
