Transcript of the narration and on-screen captions, as published with the film.

It was cutting. Now it has stopped to fetch another tool. Has it become indecisive? Usually, no.

A hole, a pocket and a finished surface may call for different cutting tools. One cutter is not an entire machine shop.

On an appropriately equipped machine, the program can call an automatic tool change as part of the planned sequence.

The correct tool, holder and associated settings still matter. Automatic does not mean someone can stop thinking.

Think of a planned change of instrument, not a tea break. Follow the machine basics at Machine Blue Book.
