Automation controls
FANUC robot controllers
The robot controller coordinates arm motion, safety interfaces, I/O, programming and connected automation. Controller choice follows the robot generation and cell architecture; it is not interchangeable with the CNC control installed on a machine tool.
R-30iB Plus
A FANUC robot-controller family offered in cabinet configurations for industrial automation applications.
R-50iA
A newer FANUC robot-controller family with multiple cabinet formats and model-specific capabilities.
FANUC CNC controls
0i and 30i/31i/32i machine-tool controls belong in the CNC reference, not the robot-controller taxonomy.

Controller planning questions
- Which controller and software generation is approved for the selected robot?
- What safety hardware, fieldbus, vision, auxiliary-axis and machine-interface options are installed?
- Which cabinet format fits the available floor space and environmental conditions?
- Who will own backups, access control, software revisions, training and recovery procedures?
- How will the controller exchange cycle-ready, door, chuck, pallet, fault and reset signals with the machine?
