Turret

What is Turret?

A turret is the indexing tool holder on a CNC lathe that carries many tools and rotates to bring the next one into the cut under program control — eliminating manual tool changes. Powered (live) turrets also drive rotating tools for milling and drilling.

Station count and whether the turret carries live tooling are key turning-center specs.
