About Machine & Method
Machine & Method is a monthly magazine from The Machine Blue Book, published by Delta Arc, LLC and edited by Michael Davis. It exists to make machinery decisions easier to understand and easier to question.
One decision per issue.
Each issue follows one theme through the life of a machine: choosing it, bringing it into the shop, running it and preparing it for its next owner.
Articles are original. Where an issue draws on an existing MBB guide, it links to the original page instead of copying it.
Sources stay next to the claim.
Every factual claim carries a source marker that leads to the full source list at the end of the issue.
Asking prices and documented sales are always labeled as which is which. A removed advertisement is never treated as a sale.
Specifications come from manufacturers. Seller statements are labeled as seller statements.
Illustrations are labeled.
Cover and feature artwork is original AI-generated editorial illustration of generic equipment. It is never presented as a real machine, a named model or a machine for sale.
The magazine uses the OFL-licensed typefaces Barlow, Barlow Condensed and Crimson Text.
Our editorial character.
Bronto closes every issue with a short, opinionated column. It is original commentary, not a reported customer story.
Tell us about your shop floor.
We welcome stories from machinists, shops and manufacturers. A published story needs the subject's written consent and a photo release; the subject checks the facts, the editor keeps the angle.

We fix mistakes in the open.
Report an error to info@themachinebluebook.com. A material correction is noted on the issue with its date; an issue is never silently replaced.
Nobody pays for coverage.
Machine & Method carries no paid placement. If a sponsor is ever added, it will be clearly labeled, kept away from price content and given no say over editorial.
