CHOOSE THE SELLING ROUTE

Trade-In, Auction or Private Machine Sale?

The best route depends on timing, desired control, ability to demonstrate the machine, buyer reach, risk tolerance and the net amount that matters to you.

Trade-in or direct dealer purchase

Often faster and operationally simpler, but the buyer assumes resale risk and typically needs room for inspection, transport, repair, holding and margin.

Brokerage or consignment

Can expand marketing and buyer access while the seller retains ownership until sale. Understand exclusivity, commission, expenses, authority, buyer fees and what happens if you find the buyer.

Auction

Creates a defined timeline and competitive event. Results depend on audience, inspection access, reserve, buyer premium, payment and removal deadlines.

Private direct sale

Offers control and may reduce intermediary fees, but the seller manages marketing, qualification, inspection, negotiation, contract, payment, loading and fraud risk.

Compare net, not headline

For every route, estimate selling price minus commission, buyer-related adjustments, preparation, storage, loading, marketing and other charges. Put responsibilities and expected net proceeds in writing.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions answered directly.

Which route produces the highest CNC machine price?

No route guarantees the highest result. Machine demand, time available, marketing reach, condition evidence, fee structure and risk allocation determine net proceeds.

What is an exclusive machinery listing agreement?

It generally gives one intermediary defined rights to market or sell the machine for a stated term. Review commission, term, termination, expenses and protected buyers carefully.

Should I compare offers by gross price or net proceeds?

Compare both, but net proceeds and retained obligations usually determine the seller's actual economic outcome.
