About this film

Zero down does not mean zero cost. Bronto untangles machinery finance: interest, repayment totals, headline rates, fees, guarantees, application basics and the cash-versus-finance question.

MBB is a place to prepare the questions and find resources, not a lender selecting finance for your circumstances.

The video compares hypothetical $100,000, five-year loans: about $121,658 in total payments at 8% nominal annual interest versus $158,963 at 20%. Neither is an available quote or a claim about a normal market rate.

Example assumptions

Illustration only: USD $100,000 actually financed; 60 equal end-of-month payments; fixed nominal annual interest of 8% or 20%, divided by 12; fully amortizing. No fees, deposit, balloon, taxes, insurance or other charges. Neither rate is presented as normal or available to you. Totals use unrounded payments; displayed figures are rounded independently. Real contracts can differ. This is not a legal APR calculation.

Zero down. Splendid. That does not mean zero cost. Interest is the cost of borrowing. On a standard amortizing loan, it applies to the balance you still owe. Eight and twenty percent produce very different totals. These are illustrations, not offers. No single rate is normal for everyone. Credit, term and equipment matter. Get comparable written offers. Compare fees, total payments, guarantees, early payoff and any large final payment. A low payment is not a cheap deal. For an application, expect business details, financial records and a machine quote. Deposits and security requirements vary. Cheap finance can preserve cash. But fees, lost cash discounts and repayment risk can erase that advantage. Start at Machine Blue Book. Apply securely with a verified lender. Keep sensitive documents out of ordinary email. This is general education, not financial, tax or legal advice. We are not acting as your lender, broker or attorney. Consult qualified professionals about your situation.
