About this film

Cash or finance? Start by comparing the complete alternatives, not assuming one always wins.

Low-cost finance may preserve working capital for payroll, tooling or a slow production ramp. But fees, a lost cash discount, guarantees, repayment risk and end-of-term costs can undo the benefit. Cash retained is not automatically money saved.

Compare the actual cash price with the deposit, payments, required fees and any final buyout. Consider how the business would handle downtime or weaker revenue. Loans, leases and equipment finance agreements can have different obligations.

This is a framework for questions, not a recommendation to borrow, pay cash or invest retained money for a guaranteed return.
