FANUC industrial robots—without the taxonomy noise

FANUC uses distinct names for robots, CNC controls and machine products. CRX, M, R, P and SR identify robot families. ROBOCUT identifies FANUC wire EDM. Series 0i and 30i/31i/32i identify CNC controls. Keeping those product classes separate makes specifications and search results materially more useful.

Correction note: older MBB-generated pages incorrectly attached “ROBOCUT” to robot and controller model names. Those legacy URLs now consolidate here or to the appropriate controller reference.

CRX series

Collaborative robots intended for flexible automation, including machine tending and material handling. Application safety still depends on the complete cell and risk assessment.

M series

Industrial robots spanning compact machine-tending and handling applications through heavier payload work.

R-2000 series

Heavy-payload robots used for material handling, spot welding and demanding transfer applications.

P series

Robots configured for painting and coating environments, with application-specific protection and routing.

Robot controllers

R-30iB Plus and R-50iA controller context, separated from FANUC CNC controls.

FANUC CNC controls

0i, 30i, 31i and 32i CNC families used on machine tools and related systems.

Official examples

CRX collaborative robotsFANUC describes the CRX line as collaborative automation with model-specific payload, reach and repeatability.
M-20iD/25Official specifications list 25 kg payload, 1,831 mm reach and six axes for machine tending and handling.
R-2000iC/210FOfficial specifications list 210 kg payload and 2,655 mm reach for heavy handling and spot-welding applications.
